I just watched Cloverfield again, and noticed something I hadn't heard before: during one frantic conversation between the protagonists and a group of people in the street after they escape from the surprise party, it sounds as though one of the women in the argument mentions the word Cloverfield.

If you go to the Scene Select feature, and pick scene 6 (in the edition I have, which is the one with the metallic case, it's got an image of the bridge), you'll get to the part immediately after Hud rewinds the video to show the group the monster. In amongst the frenzied speech, you can hear one woman saying "Did you see it? I don't know what it was, (a few mumbled words) it was giant...(mumbled)... that thing Cloverfield!" She says the word Cloverfield at about 00:23:28.

If anyone else can take a look at this and see if they could verify what I've found (or if someone else noticed before me), that'd be great. That is, if anyone still uses this board.

I had personally loved this monster, about as much as Clover. Here is a neat info on the 1998 Godzilla from the Cinefex book number 74 page 86: "Toho sent word that if the technology had been avaible to design the creature in such a manner back then, their Godzilla would have probably resembled the creature we came up with. Dollar and technology limitations forced them to go with a man in a suit, but it waasn't what they wanted-it was a matter of praticallity."

This proves that Toho wanted something like the American Godzilla look, but couldn't do it back in 1954. The American Godzilla from the cartoon series has Japanese Godzilla traits like regeneration, high intelligence, and Atomic Breath plus 1998 movie Godzilla abilities. American Godzilla from the cartoon series is more of, in my view, what toho wanted for their godzilla.

This thread is simple enough, and it's been requested many times before but never has it really seen the light of day. So I'll bring it into fruition. Here's how it goes.

* Talk about movies you're looking forward to and why they are interesting to you.
* Discuss movies in general; the history of movies, filmography etc.
* Keep it clean; no fanboyish comments and post quality material, not spam.
* If you are posting pictures, do not use [IMG] brackets since they will stretch the page to unbearable tolerance. No one likes to constantly scroll left and right all of the damn time. Just post the link, since it will automatically link the user to a different browser tab, instead of a window.
* Don't forgot to keep it alive, since you guys are the ones requesting it.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the following movies this year:

The Dark Knight
The Hulk
Wanted
[REC] (well, I'm going to try and get it on Blu-Ray, if possible)

There are many other movies on my mind, but I can't list them all at the moment. So hope this thread helps. No need to thank me for taking the initiative. It's no biggie, really. I'm just here to help.

I've been away for a while. I think my last activity was back on the 10th of March, a couple months ago. Well, I don't know what's been going on but the state of the forums doesn't seem to be that much different than when I left. The Cloverfield ARG seems to have died momentarily. I've been lurking on CloverfieldClues updating my knowledge on the Cloverfield universe with the articles and posts that Dennis has been providing his daily traffickers.

Jordan, the admin to this site seems to have left for good. I haven't heard from him in a long time it seems to me that he just gave up on the forums. He should have kept the site as a blog. That's what the site was originally. And it seemed to have prospered like wildfire. It was a grand site. No use making it a forum if there's no one going to post on it. Not to mention that there are far better forums out there concerning Cloverfield and the ARG.

Myself? I've been fine. Busy with finals coming up and putting a lot of hours into my job. Summer is coming up so I've got plans as usual. I also have a deviantART account which I update every now and then. So if you guys are interested, check it out for yourself and see what you like.

Well, other than that. I guess I'm just here to say hello. So if you're still around, leave a message and tell me what's up? Anyways, I didn't realize it was this late. It's well after 12 in the morning and I've got to go to work tomorrow. I'm sure everyone else here has to deal with work and other daily rituals. So, here's to Project Cloverfield. If the site isn't going to be around in the near future, let it die knowing it had some great members.

The movie sucked real bad.. The method of telling the story was terrible...like watching a home movie filmed by an amateur. They said they spent a lot of time on monster development. This certainly didn't come across on the screen. My six year old could have done better than this. I'm pissed off I spent good money on this filmed. Let this serve as a warning to others.
