Clover's dead. Rob's dead. Beth's dead. Jason's dead. They're all dead, Jim. That's why the movie ended.
The reason the film is secret:
a. The DoD makes everything Top Secret, even stuff that is common knowledge [example: Israel has hundreds of nuclear bombs, yet for many years the USA ignores the issue in peace negotiations.]. Since Clover -- and the parasites -- was seen on the TV news, likely with an international feed, the whole world knows that the Lil' baby was using Manhattan as her playpen.
b. The DoD is trying to cover up the fact that they did the hammer down, blaming the loss of Central Park on Clover spontaneously decompressing. Maybe they didn't actually follow protocol in writing off Manhattan.
c. The lawsuits.
d. Respecting the privacy rights of the poor dead yuppies.

i didnt get the endin
the movie begins at april 27 6:48am

but right ant the end wen theyre alive and at a carnival and the date is april 27 6:17 pm

That can be easily explained. As stated many times in the movie, the camrea was Robs. He even asked Hud if it was his camrea during the party and also asked if there was a tape in there and they replaced it.

Sadly they didn't so Rob lost the footage of him and Beth being at Coney Island on April 27. That day was shown off and on through the film for various reasons. The final bit of Beth giving off what I say is a black humor line of "I had a good day.", was most likely because the camrea was finaly damaged to the point it wouldn't work anymore, or a random lucky rock hit the stop record button.

^Actually, the reason the other footage plays is because the camera is: rewinding, or being shut off. That is the only time we've seen the footage he recorded over.

As I said, various reason. But thanks for that. Now, to list all the time that I can remember of that happening.
Once was right after Rob asked if there was a tape in there and they found out there was. That was probably when they shut it off.
Then there was when Hud said he saw it and was showing everybody else, which was rewinding. It was kinda funny that time. You're half way expecting the film to rewind to what you just saw and the next thing you know you see Beth and Rob on a ride.
And finaly at the end when all hell broke loose and the camrea just shut off.

Maybe the DVD will have extended scenes of Coney Island all compiled onto one chapter of the DVD for Cloverfield. That'd be nice.

I'm with you Pr0. I wouldn't mind seeing the full vid of Coney Island, or what they really planned on showing, the full digestive track of the monster! lol.

There is a possibility one or both of them survived. I mean you see people surviving earthquakes, and the like in impossible situations. It's just possible that because they were under the bridge that something fell on them to break their fall. It's kind of a long shot, but it's possible.

On the other hand it does also seem like a long shot that the camera would be found from beneath all of the rubble. Although then again, the cleaning up of Central Park would have a lot less to go through than anywhere else.

This made me laugh. I really wouldn't be surprised. XD

Jasons definately dead too, again I went through frame by frame, you see the lamp post he is on get bent over and crushed and even see him get mangled under the tail for about a frame.

I think Rob and Beth are alive, certainly Rob, because they scream and scream and then he's like "look at me, look at me!!" - although they do say "i love you" which is normally a dying thing to say heh.

I've heard he says "It's still alive" backwards, during the credits, but I can't find any noise or those words (I played it bacwkards heh) where is it?
