ok, im gonna try having punctuation. I just read in the replys to a review. The subject was brought up that there could have been two monster. One user mentioned that matt reeves said that the monster was suffering from seperation anxity. I read the same interview from an old post on this site. Anyway i think theres something there, another user said that two fighter jets flew by as they were getting out from under the chopper i agree. Wouldnt they have seen that monster? there was also a comment that they monster that ate hud was a little to small to be killing sky scrapers. So maby one was the mom and one was the kid? anyway i think that there might be something here what do you think?
Most of those user-comments were from me. xD

i figured it was u but i didnt want to use names just incase i was wrong
I am the one who thinks the Central Park monster who ate Hud was a bit small to be trashing skyscrapers, as well as how a monster trashing mid town, whom the military was actively fighting, managed to get out to the Brooklyn Bridge, tail whip it, then get back to mid town....
I definately think that there are two monsters now. I made a note of it in my 'things to take notice of' when I went to see it again today [I kind of do that on repeat screenings when I read people's theories I try to make a mental note to check them out].
For starters, when the Statue of Liberty's head is knocked off, just before that scene, we see Hud filming the monster amongst the sky-scrapers. I don't know the layout of New York, but to me, it just seems too quick to get from downtown jump into the water, smash off the head and back into downtown again. Of course that head flies a damn long way, but then again, it's a damn big monster. XD
Same with what MizMeow says above with the Brooklyn Bridge incident, and also [I think it was in one of Pr0LiFiX's posts --- you know I need a shorter way to refer to you, I have to copy/paste your name XD] that the jets are flying in the opposite direction from the monster which ends up devouring Hud [indicates they are going elsewhere to attack].
The only thing that seems to contradict this is that both the military and media seem to only refer to one monster. Either it's just the way they're speaking, or in the case of the military, they're trying to cover up that there's more than one.
Summoner Yuna...
well if u see the tail of the one at Brooklyn and then the one in the city u then truly see how disproportionate they are. i mean the tail alone was the size of the one in the city
Size-wise - I think it's one, the sky scrapers it destroys are like apartment blocks, then when you see it later its next to proper sky scrapers so doesn't look as big.
i can't remember where right now, but while reading the new info popping up w/ the upcoming DVD release, i came across a Matt Reeves interview where he states there was only 1 baddie in the movie. he'd talked about the scene w/ HUD as baddie gum (in CP), being from a different perspective, and looking that much different from the ground up. i think it was IMDB that referenced a MR interview, but i'm not positive.
I think there were three monsters. I think one of them came from the capsized tanker. I think one of them came out of the Statue of Liberty's head (this one was a lion), and one from space. You can see the final monster drop from the sky at the end of the movie. They all formed together (like Voltron) to create one big monster (as seen in the movie). This monster (Clover as some people call him) destroys NYC as part of Project Mayhem. All of this is related to the bloop sound.
^This guy is joking. Har har! xD
Anyways, it has already been made clear that there was only one monster who attacked NYC. All of the different view points made it look like different monsters because of the street-lighting which caused the monster to turn into a greenish-brown color when Clover passed by during the fallen Liberty head scene. During the last scene, Clover seems small because Hud is pointing the camera directly up into the sky. This gives the illusion of the monster looking smaller because there's nothing around him to compare the matter of size.
The jet fighters probably didn't see the monster because Clover was most likely submerged underneath some nearby water. As the jets finally passed, Clover slowly crept onto land and surprised Hud and the rest of the crew.
Keep in mind that the Rob and friends were unconscious when the helicopter crashed for a couple hours. They awoke early in the morning, so a lot of stuff could have happened from the crash, up to that time.
