Actually Jarvis, you're wrong. There was only one monster that attacked Manhattan. Read the investigative report that Dennis posted on CloverfieldClues. While I do believe that there is more than one monster (the fourth and final issue of Cloverfield:Kishin -manga- supports this claim), there is lots of things that debunk the idea. HUD had the camera off for actually the majority of the attack. So the time frame between certain scenes will obviously seem shorter to the viewer.

We've been over this before, haven't we, Jarvis? We all know that the idea of there being two monsters attacking Manhattan is clearly nothing to go by. Even the tagline for the movie says, "SomeTHING has found us." The military also acknowledges that there is only one monster. Not to mention that the investigative report that I mentioned before also confirms that there was ONE monster. ^_^

Prolifix i never stressed the fact that Clovie was the ONLY monster in NEW YORK, as your stressing. The investigative report on the special edition BlueRay DVD only covers that of New York. Your facts do cover my suspicion (and thats all it was, a suspicion) that there could have been multiple monsters in NEW YORK. However, it does not cover the fact there could be multiple monsters around the world does it? And about the tagline, "something has found"...was shown on the poster infront off Manhatten Island. JJ could have been reffering that "something has found us" [in New York]...not "something has found us" [the entire planet] - if you get my meaning.

Since your into this investigative report from the Blueray DVD you should also know that one of the quotes stated "Preliminary blood samples from HSPs (Human Scale Parasites) showed high levels of Katei No Mitsu ("Seabed's Nectar"), the key ingredient in Tagruato's Slusho! beverage"....this means that the monster/s must have lived near sea beds nectar for some time to gain it in their bloodstream....looking back on Slusho's history page, sea beds nectar was first found in Japan...leading me to suggest other monsters exist around the nectar.

ALSO lol, (sorry for the long winded post)....we still dont know what happens to the little parasites do we? Do they grow just as large and just as violent as the "LSR (large scale aggressor) [lol].
