ok im new to this thing i havent seen the movie im not gonna lie ur all probably gonna critize me but here is a though. i researched this all night im wierd like that but ok teddy sent the stuff to jamie or who ever that twecked girl was what if she passed out on the coach during the inital attack and changed latter that night after being passed out then she was the monster that ate hud at the end of the movie. that would explain the size the 2 monsters and why she is being so concentrated on in the special advertising. just a theroy im interested in others i also though that maybe if the parisites bit people who ate or drank the slushy ingrediant they mit turn into the other smaller monsters like the one in the end that is a little more far fetched but its a theory lol so write back

We really don't know how many monster's there were. After reading through interveiws and reviews, all we find is that there was only one monster.
I have the DVD, I've watched everything on it over 10 times, and all they say is that there was only one monster. Yet there is the possiblity that there was more then one. Atleast there IS more then one. The one in New York was only a new born, meaning that atleast big mamma is still out there.
To try to answer the question. Yes, there is atleast two monsters, but we don't know if both where in New York at the same time.
There is only one monster in the movie. There are may be a momma and a papa, but they were not in the movie.
Ha.. I always believed there were two monsters... The one that ate Hud was wayyy to small to be knocking down skyscrapers. Plus when they showed after the chopper crash in the park, they jets were flying into the city to bomb away from the Hud-eater. Also, how can the beastie be trashing downtown in the city, and at the same time, toast the bridge with a huge tentacle thing? Just a few of my thoughts...

I'm not sure if I believe there were two creatures in the film, but it was said that 'Clover' was just an youth. I would expect a bigger, badder beast in the sequel.
theres multiple monsters, whether or not different monsters were shown in the movie...not sure....but there are multiple monsters. Come on guys one of our first pieces of evidence was with the trailers opening credits "U.S Case ###, area formerly as Central Park". I too also find it weird however that the monster had time to tail whip B.Bridge then make it back to the center of town.
