[Spoilers] Is she dead?

I'm talking about Marlena. Yes I saw it too, she exploded. At least it looked like she did. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but the man on the right could also be holding something in front of her to catch whatever if coming out of her, and then she collapses into the ground? Maybe she didn't explode but the big round form that we saw was like a bag or something?

What's your theory on what happened to Marlena?

Ianno, I liked Marlena prior to the movie. There was just something about the potential for her character that I liked with the ARG.

I think she died though; We saw a bit of foreshadowing when they had wheeled by the soldier whose stomach had been ripped open (well, okay, exploded).. Saw how it was just an empty cavity, missing it's organs.

Chances of her being alive are pretty much non-existent in my eyes.

There is a chance she's alive. It's less then a snowballs chance in hell as it's thrown into the lake of fire, but there's still a chance.

Of everybody who had an on-screen death (becides Rob and Beth. bombs hitting+stop in screaming and yelling does not = death. Very implied, but no.) Jason has the best chance of surviving. Yeah, the tail looked like it hit him, and I mean RIGHT on him, but it could have hit next to him, or he rolled around the tail as he had to fall to the lower level of the bridge. Possible no, probable yes. If the tail didn't land right on him or if he only got a glancing blow, he could have landed in the water and swim to the other side.

Now Hud, he's dead. No if, and, for, nor, or, or buts about it. We all saw what he saw, and that was the inside of a mouth.

Enough out of me, I think to much about stuff like that anyway.

I'd like to think that Marlena is alive, she's one of my favorite characters in the movie, but like the previous post said about the foreshadowing it's basically all just wishful thinking. I really hate how Jason had to die. But JJ and friends had to do it. Even though Rob is my favorite character, Jason seems like the type who would take charge and lead the group out of danger. But now that he's dead, Rob's basically got the whole incident revolving around him to lead all of his friends out of harms way. But we already know how the movie ends.

I saw the movie again a couple of hours ago, and to me it looked like the tail hit in front of him. So yes, the possibility of him still being alive is there.

Well, to me it's pretty unlikely Jason survived the huge drop just as the bridge was collapsing. I hate thinking realistically -- especially in movies, but if you're suspended around a bridge with the foundation breaking apart, it's HIGHLY unlikely Jason would even survive the large drop to the water underneath. He'd most likely hit the water (either die from the sudden impact) and get crushed by oncoming debris from the collapsing bridge. I wish Jason didn't die...

Curse you Mythbusters. If it wasn't for you I could say that the tail broke the water tension as Jason landed. But you're right about that. The sudden impact would have killed him, if not for falling stones and cars.


But back to some what on topic, what about Jamie? She just dissapeared and never showed back up.

ok my theorie is she died she exploded but how did she die well if u do ur reaserch and u speculate a little the monster bit her wich deposited a little seabed necter in her wich neeads warmth to awaken wich once awoke exploded out of her alot like alian dont u think but yeah thats my the theorie?

I don't think the Seabed Nectar has anything to do with the monster or parasites. There was a theory that Dennis at CloverfieldClues recieved in an email about Seabed Nectar being in the monster's blood, but the guy was basing his opinion on Slusho! which didn't play a big role in the movie except for the fact that Rob was going to Japan because he became vice-president of Slusho! *Hud mentions this in one scene*

And that Jason was wearing a Slusho! tee, don't forget that. But we all know that was because Rob got one and gave it to him.
