A new poster? Who the hell knows.

Chris sent in this image via email to me. I can’t confirm if this is legitimate or not. I haven’t paid attention to anything about the movie as of late, so if this has already been debunked, comment letting me know and I’ll edit the post to reflect so!

Cloverfield Poster?

Edit: Thanks guys for letting me know! I honestly glanced at it, then blogged about it. Can’t focus on anything but getting a job done, that I’ve been working on for 13 hours now :3

Your friendly neighborhood Cloverfield

Hey guys, this is Ray. I’m a sophomore at Virginia Tech and being at college I have a lot of free time so hopefully I can be a long time contributor here.  I will start with a bit of older news.  On slusho.jp the happy talk section has been updated with brand new quotes. Two of which are quite interesting.  One of them mentions a story about a whale who swam up the Thames River in England.  This, is in fact, a real story that occurred over a year ago. In that same quote the girl asks if they have Slusho in London.  The speculation that rises from this would be, does the monster attack all over the world in port cities?  We don’t know of course.  The other quote is just simply “BLOOP.”  I am not sure if you guys are familiar with the bloop story:

In 1997 NOAA detected an ultra low frequency underwater sound in the southpacific ocean.  It has been said that this sound would have to be from an animallarger than a blue whale.  Its interesting.  You can read more about bloop at Wikipedia or go to this site to actually hear the sound file bloopwatch.org/thebloop.html.

Before I get into some hardcore rumors, I would like to say something about previous post about rageofthegods.com.  I really think that this has NOTHING to do with the movie.  A guy over on the IMDB boards said that there is an RPG game coming out September ‘08 called “Fallout 3″ that is probably linked with this website.  On rageofthegods there is a date 9/15/08 which would correlate with that.  The game is a post nuclear simulation from what the official site says.  I really don’t know why people would think ‘rage’ would be related anyway considering there is a rat on the main page and God forbid if ‘our own monster’ is a giant rat. I think I can safely say - that site is debunked.

Well, that brings me to the rumor that 1-18-08 will not only include a giant monster, but raptor like creatures that chase the people and eat them.  I found this on the following websites: darkhorizons.com and dreadcentral.  I cannot tell you if these sites are credible because I simply do not know.  I do know however that the fellas over at slashfilm have said there are no raptor-like creatures: slashfilm.com. From what I have read before, slashfilm is more credible than other movie websites. All three of these posts have been put up in the last day or two so it is interesting how all 3 have sources that are saying different things.  In my personal opinion, I have no idea.  Part of me wants to say that if the movie will focus more on the characters, there will be raptor like things.   If it doesn’t then it will just be one big monster.   It all depends on what kind of movie our boy JJ wants to make.  I think I will end it there.  Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think!

RageOfTheGods.com: New site?

Posted on August 18th, 2007 in Rumors | 50 Comments »

Hey guys, there’s some rumors around the net referring to this apparently new viral website that may be related to Cloverfield, www.rageofthegods.com. Although this site doesn’t give out so much, there’s a few coincidences with things that we already know. For instance, the “–” in the title, as the 1-18-08.com site, the number six and stuff. However, in some sites I’ve read the extended whois info about this website, and it seems like it was created abut 12 days before 1-18-08.com, that’s why many people has debunked this site, but I’m begining to think that maybe, just maybe, the site creation date may not be a true reference, because the 1-18-08.com site was created in march 30th, 4 months before we even knew about Cloverfield, and this site was created just 12 days before it… So, it could have something to do with it.

Anyway, I went through the site and I found some interesting info, that I haven’t seen in anywhere else. First, of course, the main site:

00

The image of a rat with a japanese kanji, the text field with no submit button, and the blurry thing above the rat image. The 6 digit cancel code is kinda interesting, hofwever, there are no javascript functions or anything that can capture that data, so, moving along…

The website in matter of seconds redirects to a flash file, that shows the following series of numbers one after another:

rageofthegods_01.PNG rageofthegods_02.PNG rageofthegods_03.PNG

And then fades to black, without showing something else. I noticed that the last series of numbers is the same one as the flash filename. I tried to change the secuence to the ones showed in the flash, but it just shows the same info, so, I did this:

I inputed “*.*” in the ur, resulting in http://www.rageofthegods.com/*.*, and this is what happened:

*.*

As you can see, a series of 6number sequences are shown in the bottom of the page. The last one seems to be a date, 09/15/08, and the (6). In the title of the site, there are only 5 numbers, the date is not shown.

http://www.rageofthegods.com/19924.html <- There are many code url’s like this one, popping out in Google. Unfiction declared it Out Of Game, but, who knows… What are your thoughts about this one?

More footage, who knows

IESB.net is claiming to have some possible “leaked spy footage of 1-18-08,” though I’m not entirely convinced. If you feel like giving it a look, you can view the video at IESB.net.

I’d take it with a grain of salt. Oh, and beware of IESB load time. That site sucks a lot of ass so chances of it crashing your browser are very likely. They need to hire someone to give them a new CMS because whatever they have now, takes forever to load.

Six more months of ARG?

If you live in the Washington D.C. area you probably listen to “Elliot In the Morning” on D.C. 101. If you do, you may have heard an odd caller on Tuesday morning. He was calling from California telling Elliot that he was sending photos in to him and the show with Speilberg with one of the Slusho t-shirts. Why does this matter you ask…

The caller (who never identified himself on air) went on to say that he would be sending similar pictures with Will Smith (I Am Legend) and J.J. Abrams. When asked what he was doing in California and how he had access to all of these people, he went on to tell Elliot that he worked with all of them in advertising, and more specifically ‘viral marketing.’ Elliot immediately asked about 1-18-08, and the caller went on to say that was why he was meeting with JJ. He said he worked on the Lost Experience and was now working on this campaign. His next comments were the most interesting: “No movie has ever been made like this. The six months leading up to the move are as important, if not more important, and the movie wraps everything up!”

(I cleaned the post up because I couldn’t handle all of the grammatical errors, and various other oddities that were present.)

Could we be seeing the theatrical poster for 1-18-08?

I’ve you’ve been lurking the Unfiction Forums like I have, you’ve come across a lot of crazy theories, rumors, guest posts and everything in between.

The latest gem is that there is a possibility of a movie poster being sold at a shop in Southern California, Frank and Son’s.

Guest goes on to write:

Anyway, I was at a large booth where they sell movie posters. One of the posters there had a snapshot of the statue of liberty overlooking the city of new york. The statue was missing it’s head and at the top in large white letters it said “Monstrous”. The lower right corner had in smaller white letters, 1-18-08.

He then included some pictures in another post which you can see below:

So now the question is, could this possibly be a theatrical poster for the upcoming 1-18-08 movie? What do you guys think?

Edit: As a commentator kindly reminded me about, there is a domain that has surfaced that relates to the Monstrous title in the possible movie poster.

Paramount Pictures has registered themonstrousmovie.com.

Probable video for 1-18-08 scenes

Posted on July 21st, 2007 in Rumors | 2 Comments »

I’m late on posting this, but for the sake of my viewers knowing about this (in case they don’t check any other sites), I came across a few posts that spoke about a video that has been leaked that appears to be a scene(s) for the 1-18-08 movie.

Cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com blogged a little more about the pictures and included this:

Manuel tipped me off to a video, which by itself is a little random - people running, military vehicles. But if you notice in one of the shots, there is a Sephora store.

LiveJournal user 1-18-08 found some pictures by Eric Richardson on Flickr, who lives in Los Angeles. He has various pictures of “Filming Notices” by various studios, one of them being Paramount for a movie called Slusho! The notice mentions military vehicles, and 200 extras. The other picture taken at the same time? A fake Sephora store.

Ken Tarallo speaks up on his official forums.

Thanks to HetMasteen from the Unfiction Forums for finding this and letting us know in the #slusho IRC channel (server: irc.chat-solutions.org:667). He was approved for his membership at the Tarallo forums and found this little bit posted in one of the threads there:

First post: July 8th.
user clownnation: I just saw the “cloverfield” teaser when i went and saw Transformers. All I can say Ken, is WHOA! Its amazing how that teaser hooked me and I have no idea what the movie is about, who ever put that teaser together is brilliant! There is a HUGE internet buzz about it now!

user fxdude (Ken):Yes it will be interesting.. did you see the Statue Of Liberty head fly down the street?, we shot all that at Paramounts backlot, New York Street, most people think we are shooting it with a handy cam, but NO we are using the state of the art DVD Panavision camera. Also the press is stating that it is shooting now in New York… WRONG AGAIN media people ..

user doghead76: hehe…they thought statue of liberty…that’s New York. isn’t it fun though, when you can keep on fooling people that way? I mean…that’s just another shade of movie magic, don’t you think?

user clownnation: Yes I did see the Statue of Liberty’s head. That wasnt CG? It really does look like a handy cam, GREAT EFFECTS! I usually dont like trailers these days, they give away the entire movie, but this trailer told me very little and hooked me right in!

user fxdude (Ken): Some of it was CG the rest mechanical, as the head hits the ground we yanked the cars out of the way shook the buildings, broke the glass, created sparks, anything the CG item hits we have to destroy. a lot of work.. “Godzilla meets Escape from New York”
