I recieved an e-mail from Richard Cabrera at Moonlight Productions, he has sent me some fantastic fan art pictures, and a full size wall paper edition of his work. The pictures depicting the start of trailer one with the “meteor rocks” coming from the explosion and the input of the “whale like” Fan Art Cloverfield monster and mini monster! Take a look

I’ve been a fan of cloverfield since Transformers but was never a die hard investigator like most people are. But I cant wait to see this. not too long ago, I ran into this fan art that somebody had made on what he or she believed was the monster of the movie and I thought to myself…. If this is true, how would it look like in the movie… so i threw together this image of what it might have looked like in the movie :D
Im planning on making more Very soon :D
the next batch of images should be more realistic and professional.

lol, I like the billboard with your name on it and the guy smashing the Mountain Dew can on his head. My suggestion would be to brighten the explosions, it looks like there’s some shadow hitting it on the first two screens.

I just noticed that Hanna Montana is playing in Vegas on 1-18-08. Now I am going to have to figure out where my priorities are.

There’s one thing I forgot to mention. If you’re doing some fanart for Cloverfield (or anything else, for that matter) you always need a focal point. There seems to be too much stuff going on in your artwork. BTW, where did you get the 1-18-08 font from?
haha, Jamie Lynn Spears…maybe she’s the monster. XD
the font is Bell Gothic Std Bold 17px Crisp modified with spacing and the dots are just periods using the same font.
yeah, your totally right about the focal point, I was just gonna release the bottom half of the image (my fav part) but i figured people might have wanted to see the whole shot. but just the bottom half is good enough for me :D
Also…. Im working on a new picture already. this one is gonna be ‘Poster’ style.
in the image, you see the ‘Monster’ roaring at cars and people and you also get a nice big closeup of his hand grabbing onto the building.
Although… theres gonna be a lot of detail in this new poster, I’m gonna give it some nice motion to it so that people get the impression that the camera was quickly jerked and also not showing TOO much ;)
I got to keep it original to Cloverfield and tease the audience. haha.
My ‘Monster’ is based on some spoiler review that I read 2 days ago of some guy who swore he saw the Cloverfield Screener.
Yeah, I read the fake spoiler review, but I thought the monster was cool the way he described it, “a monster with red eyes, scales on his face, and machete for teeth”. Anyways, good luck — I’m gonna watch some episodes of LOST and wait for that poster to get done, hehe.
*smacks forehead and bangs head on keyboard*

Aw, I and I was just at the second season of LOST.
Sounds cool, can you tell us a little bit about it, Richard?
well, Id love to just post it on here, but I want Jarvis to check it out 1st, then have him post it on its own section.
I did it really quick, like I said before, you get to see the monsters face and his hand gripping the side of the building, a bunch of smoke, darkness and camera shaking. I didnt put as much detail as i expected to because of the shaking. I figured it would all be lost….
anyway, I was checking out the trailer just now, and when you see a peek of the monster through the buildings… I can clearly see the bodys shape.

(this is SUPER fast and just did it with MS Paint. -just kidding-)
anyway, play the video in like 1080i or whatever and notice the tail, the bending of the legs with fleshy lizard or dino type legs (both of them) and also, theres somethingon its back… I thought it was wings or somehting, but then after seeing it again and again, it might be a elongated head bone like this dinosaur or like the alien from Alien Vs Predator. Im sure most of you have already figured this much out, lol. Im just BEARLY getting into the ‘cloverfield investigation’ scene :D
anyway…. Once Jarvis gets my e mail, you will all be able to share the poster :D

But the thing is that it’s not a dinosaur….JJ Abrams created something way too awesome and intense and scary for America. It’s an original monster, he says, and I believe him because he gave us episodes of LOST.
no, I totally agree with you, i KNOW it wont be a dinosaur. Thats the only thing i can think of that looked closest to what the legs and head shape looked like. :D
