So its visually appealing?

A company called double negative is doing / done the visual effects for the cloverfield movie.
Having done such work as Harry potter, The Bourne ultimatum, Chronicles of Riddick, Children of men, Stardust and Doom, 007: Casino Royale, Da Vinci Code, and such other movies with fantastic effects. Effects wise, cloverfield should look amazing!

Wasn’t there another CG company that did the work for the original Cloverfield teaser? Anyways, seeing as how this is the same company behind great movies like The Chronicles of Riddick (what about Pitch Black?) I’m guessing the quality of this movie will make it seem more unrealistic than realistic…especially since they are using a camcorder to capture all of the footage. However, this being the case, I’m thinking most of the special effects will be used on the monster and destruction of the city, rather than snazzy, unrealistic leaps through windows (Bourne Ultimatum, anyone?).

Jarvis, I cracked a photo!

Pr0…..where did u get this from….cause it looks fake lol….please tell me if its legit and u actually did crack it lol
I don’t know if it is legit, I just enhanced the photo.
I guess it does look kinda fake, but you can’t blame me with the little amount of Cloverfield info that we receive from time to time.
I don’t know if it is fake or real, honestly.
(Please don’t ban me!)
lol…i wasnt even thinking about banning mate…i would never ban anyone on here unless they went haywire and went cyber columbine on us.
How did u enhance the pic Pr0? send me some info.
All of these claims that this is a low budget movie seem to be being dispelled by the companies that are working on them.
I’ve known for awhile that the budgets that production companies throw around are bullshit. If they say it cost 100 million to make, it was probably more like 30 million.
Which is still alot of cheese, just not as much as they’d have us believe. It’s in their best interest to say things cost a little more than they really do, as long as their accountant can prove it.
And Pr0……I saw a making of and that “unrealistic” leap was a real stunt.
A jump one story down into a three foot wide window. It was pretty cool.
Pr0…. that effects company has also done some pretty amazing looking films as well…. so i think the effects will fit the movie very well. and i HIGHLY doubt they are filming with a camcorder. they arent that low budget. they just add filters in post pro that may give it a cam corder feel.
ok…everyone go and rent “blair witch project” if you havnt seen it - that is the vague style in which Cloverfield will be filmed.
Hey, Jarvis — I am uploading a Cloverfield video to youtube and I think you may want to see it.
I will post it here when it is done uploading.

oh excellent! Cheers Pr0
Shiiiiit, you guys are gonna love it, great music, info and screenshots!
Oh, if only my brother wasn’t hogging up most of the internet connection playing Call of Duty 4 online!
It’s at least take a half hour for the video to upload. :(
Two words.
Punch. Him. In. The. Face.
Goddamn, youtube is being a bitch. Apparrently, I can’t log in because there’s too much traffic, or something. I will try and have the video uploaded for tomorrow, though.
It’s regarding TIDOwave, Jamie and Rob. :)

So, it’s something you made, or it’s Cloverfield made?
Either way, I’d check it out.
Damn, around comes December 9 and still we’re without a J & T video. Ah well. The day is yet young.
As far as my opinion of Dneg goes, from their resume I’m thinking pretty highly of them. I definitely plan to buy Bourne 3 on DVD this xmas, anyway.
Alright, youtube doesn’t have that annoying bug anymore, so I will have the video posted here in a half hour or so.

(Okay, enough of me for today, lol) :P
Thanks for that Pr0, but i dont think i will post about it. Reasons such as legitimancy and possible spoilers.
It’s such a good read, though — holy crap, everything seems to tie in perfectly.
Anyways, did you check out the two youtube links that I provided?

- Jordan…did u give me privalige to post video’s?
Shoot, Jarvis, can you delete the post with the Cloverfield script?
I didn’t mean to stretch the page like that. :(
- Pr0
Sure…Make a link for the post :-)
Well, the whole article from the OP was removed, so there’s really no point in posting a link.

Anyways, it’s a good read, and if you want the complete article, I have it saved as a word document on my computer, and will be picking it apart piece by piece for my next video.

Nice video Pro. What post with the cloverfield script are yous guys talking about?
That’s the thing, though. Someone posted a thread showing the entire movie review to Cloverfield, but a couple of hours ago the OP (original post) was removed. Apparrently, the OP goes under the moniker, “thewhistleblower”. Though if you want to see it, I will be glad to email you the entire thing, paulisnofun.
I don’t know. I am curious, but do not want to spoil anything if it is real. That’s funny that the moniker is thewhistleblower. New Jamie and Teddy video up. Is the script all ninety or so pages?
Apparrently the entire review was over 16,000 characters (that’s around 30 pages, total). Apparrently, the new Jamie and Teddy video makes sense with the story. At the party, Jamie keeps talking about Teddy and the weird thing is that Teddy never makes an appearance in the movie, which leads me to believe that Teddy DOES work for the resistance (”the cause”).
Anyways, the weird thing about the movie review was that it does go along with what the other reviewers said. It doesn’t take long to get to the party scene. I will say this part about the movie. There’s a lot of foreshadowing at the Slusho/Tagruato convention that Jamie, HUD and Rob and the others attend, and Rob basically has to defend Ganu and Tagruato against the allegations of what Tagruato is doing with their deep-sea drilling. So Rob is really kinda the guy who is in the middle of this entire thing. He doesn’t know about the monster. He defends Ganu because Ganu IS the real bad guy in this movie (he’s not the monster) but he sure does know SOMETHING about it.
