www.cloverfieldmovie.com , the official site for cloverfield has had an update!
An “about the film” tab has been added to the web page announcing this;
Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

the use of the word Surreal intrigues me. Surreal brings on a whole nother level.
Maybe this is a Friends Reunion. Oh wait. That was six New Yorkers. Oh wait. That was not funny.
That would be perfect if it’s a Friends reunion.
They all die horrible deaths at the beginning of the movie, and then everyone else would celebrate.
What’s even better is that it says it’s their “attempt” at survival.

“monster the size of a skyscraper”….It better be a big f’ing sky scaper…i want this monster to be HUGE!
“monster descends upon the city” ? Descend as in from up high in the sky…or just literatural confusion for “come upon” ?
Well, to the people who’s been watching for up dates every day since this whole thing started, that was kinda of an obviouse statment. Yet it’s the most information that they’ve just straight up given us.

BTW, Jarvis, sorry I couldn’t get that Tagruato image into you. I looked it over because I thought I spotted something, but then I noticed that the site was hacked again, so I thought to myself, why bother, nothing is new, and Tagruato is basically ignoring it.

The Chuai station (named after a powerful Japanese emperor) is shown on Tagruato’s deep sea drilling map at www.tagruato.jp and it is located in the Atlantic ocean, about a thousand miles off the coast of NY. The station was supposed to open in September, but it seems like there may have been some problems.
So, who is the Whistle Blower, and does this have anything to do with Teddy or The Cause?
Yeah I saw this in cloverfieldclues a few minutes ago. This is one hell of a holy shit moment. Finally something crucial popping up, dammit I’m all pumped up again.

Anybody know why the note says American instead of America?
Mistranslation or a error due to being in a hurry?
And how does this Whistle Blower know this? Are they in the inside? Or do they have people on the inside to surply them information while they stay safe at their home/base?
If I may make a comment, with this rapid increase of information pouring in, we still can’t forget that there’s still a month and a half before the movie comes out. That’s still a long time to give us these cryptic messages and pictures.

Also, it’s addressed “American” probably because it’s being sent to one person who’s name is to remain anonymous.

And I think the cryptic note was found on the back of the Tagruato letter.

its friday, i’m kinda hung over, 1 of the 4 people in my department got canned, the other is not as a responsible drunk as i am and just got here…work w/ me, brain’s not up to speed yet today
According to another blog the letter came with Slusho! orders that people got (t-shirts, hats, etc.).
i got mine way the fark long time ago, about a week after the store opened. i got a tshirt, w/ japanese newspaper.
can somebody scan that in?
Yeah it only came with recent orders…hence the reason it was only put on the internet in the last day or two…
Ok guys here’s what.
I’ve checked out cloverfieldclues post on this letter thing and its very interesting.
I would like two thing.
- Pictures of the letter and “hand written” back of the letter (scan please, get it as clear as possible).
- Little explaination. (I will get the translation).
I do not want to use the cloverfieldclues pics.
Also, some people please research this “whistle blower” guy.

Have you guys ever thought of the idea that maybe……. like the plot of the movie has already begun. The letter from the Tagruato website got me thinking.
What if the movie guys put out this news on their websites, and keep us updated, so that when Jan. 18th really comes, not only does the movie come out, but the websites, like Tagruato, are also warning everybody that they’ve awaken a creature and everyone needs to take cover.
Know what I mean? As if this is a real life situation and like a week before the movie comes out…… all of the official websites are going to hit us hard with crazy information about a new danger and so forth.
Just an idea i had.

Definitly check that out. Since we’re all trying to find out more about the movie, I guess its ok to give spoilers.
SPOILERS:
-The parasite theory sounds correct. It sounds like tiny “parasite” creatures fall off the monster and attack people.
- The creature is huge, and ugly, and we do get to see all of it.
- The reviews also stated that not much backstory about the monster, or the attack is given. So i think my theory is correct, all this viral marketing is the backstory to the movie. and to fully understand it, we need to figure out he backstory to the movie ourselves. Such as………… Tagruato wakes up the creature from sea.
