Hello everyone.
Yes it is true, boldfutura.jp has returned!
Looking a bit more Sci Fi than professional and a fair bit more sloppy. This fake website has used a terrible amount of images and is very templated.
Can you find some more flaws in the website to shut them down again? Whatever this game the creators are playing, it sure is just plain annoying.

how many websites have a “Contact” section, w/out an email address? not even one that never will be read…i’m now on the bandwagon…this smells of crap. not just your average crap, but pigfarm 1-18-08news crap.
it seems they fixed the gliches in the History… other than that, same old crap
and you know its templated because there are empty links (images, bullets, etc) That and it looks like crap… lol
Did you guys hear this bloop sound? Just kidding. I really don’t understand why people are making fake websites for this movie. I just don’t get why they would do it, and I am an attention whore. Seems like a giant waste of time for a few hundred hits
well, if i could create something looking legit, i might instead of doing actual “work” at work…who am i kidding, i’d make up something that noob’s would believe as gospel, and that we’d all get a laugh outta.

How did this site end up getting related to Cloverfield anyway? Looking at it, you really don’t see any significance other than the TLD used.
Was the word bold futura (I keep saying ‘futura bold,’ like the font) used somewhere in Cloverfield documents or whatever?
@ Jordan. Bold futura was mentioned as a subsidarie off the Tagruato.jp site.
Also, I guess Slusho! is trademarked to the actual company “Bold Futura LLC”

In the game sense, Bold Futura creates the vessels used to go so deep underwater…
LOL, if I made a splash page that showed the words, “BLOOP”, I bet you my site would be more successful than this bold futura crap.

But then people would notice that if you wait look at the splash page for ten minutes, a yellow square would appear for half a millasecond (in which you’d have to click it) then hit alt+ctrl+12, tap the spacebar, hold down all the keys at once and then release every key except for the caps lock and then you’ll be redirected to the site http://www.1-18-08.com…just to piss the person off. XD

I don’t know how it works, but I don’t think the myspace pages will be updated, because of the writer’s strike. I would guess there will be no new blogs, no new comments, and no return emails. Then again, what do I know?

it was a writers strike, and JJ’s a producer/director isn’t he? goddard could have gone on strike.
i’m gettin’ sick of reruns of letterman, hope the fix this shit. i read today that they postponed the next season of 24 cause of it too. wanted to have the entire season filmed before they started showing them.
I read that JJ joined the strike. I heard that the news will be next. News writers may be joining the strike. That would be awesome.

I think JJ is striking as a writer. Not as a producer or director.
the script is done, filming is done, and its post production right now (if we can believe anything anymore) so the 1-18-08 date shouldn’t be effected…
and, i have a bridge in broklyn & some ocean front property in arizona somebody can buy
bloody people on strike. I will kick / scream / cry if the Cloverfield is affected by the strike.

the strike is a really bad blow to tv and movies that are close to coming out but thankfully the only ones that would be affected would be the ones that are filming now and the ones that are having the script written for them now so cloverfield should be all systems go. I have to admit though that the reruns on at late night are horrible and now that they have nobody writing their jokes it would be real funny to see david letterman or jay leno come out and say some joke off the top of their head and then lose it after about 10 mins and close the show down. Out of all the times to strike they pick now to do it. And i have a question, why would JJ join the strike? i thought he was only a director/ producer??
No one “has” to join the strike. Regardless of if you are in a union or not, you are still able to cross the picket line and work. Those people are called scabs. They are bad.
JJ will honor the writers strike, and he will join the picket line.

Has anyone seen the details of what the writers are asking for? They want another 4 cents per dvd sold, bringing their share to 8 cents per. They also want better insurance benefits (like the rest of us), and the biggest sticking point is that they want revenue sharing for online content. They want royalties for things that are downloaded from the world wide web.
Since the industry is heading towards online content and downloading, they want to make sure they are not screwed out of monies they deserve.
I for one support them, and even if it means that our tv and movies suck/slow down/stop altogether…….they should stay on strike until they get what they deserve.
@ Nick, i took some pictures of the site, so i’ll try to put them up on this thread. I did try when i first wrote the post but the image uploading was taking a shit long time.
JJ is also a writer, he had all the idea’s for lost i think :S ?

Geez writers, you are not going to get money for all of your crap online. If you really want money to “feed your family” join the NBA and Latrell Sprewell, or take a part time job at the BK Lounge…

Why shouldn’t they get money for their stuff online? Actors, directors and studios do.

People will just find away to broadcast it illegally anyway, its just like downloading music… just give it up
I can’t claim to know much about the strike situation, but I do know that often unionized workers are very strongly pressured into striking even if they don’t want to. people who break the picket lines are often ostracized and find it hard to work in an industry that’s very union-driven. So maybe JJ (if indeed he is striking) simply doesn’t want to burn any bridges with people in hollywood. Or maybe he simply is in favor of the strike.
I don’t know a lot about anything, but I think JJ is in the WGA. He is a writer, so I am pretty sure he is in the WGA. Then again, what do I know.

@paulisnofun: Do you mean TV news, or journalists? Because the only benefits those guys could be protesting for is more insurance or whatever. Obviously you don’t buy CNN, Season 5 on DVD. Or illegally download newspaper articles.

But how in the hell can that work into this “game,” other than possibly being the base for a sound effect? (I don’t want to start that argument up again. I see all of your points from before. This is no longer a game. It’s just a super slow, annoying viral marketing scheme.)
But, getting back to the actual Bold Futura thing: Why do we bother with them at all? Just forget it. Don’t post on it, don’t attempt to confirm its illegitimacy, just leave her be.
I hate Letterman. The only times I’ve ever watched him was on American Airlines, when there was nothing else on. I’ve flown places my entire life, and I never get sick. But watching him actually made me sick. He’s not even funny. To me, people who laugh at him seem as weird to me as people who laugh at Bill Cosby. Hell, at least Letterman talks. Cosby is incoherent!

I think what the writers are really talking about the online profits are things like Netflix and Blockbuster downloads and that type of thing.
They should get paid for that, because eventually if the companies have their way, online downloads will replace dvd and similar media.

hey arent we like really close to the supposed release of the new trailer which comes out on november 16th? and i have to say, BILL COSBY IS THE MAN! lol come on his sweaters make him funny alone and his stupid laugh.
