When is it coming?
Posted on October 27th, 2007 at 5:55 pm in Uncategorized |

For all the 1-18-08 / Cloverfield fans Saw IV (4) was a failure. There was no new 1-18-08 trailer.
So, when is the next trailer coming out? Questions and theories are flying to the next big Paramount picture: Beowulf!
Paramount has spent a massive amount on it’s upcoming movie Beowulf premiering November 16th 2007. Leading to the speculation of a new 1-18-08 trailer.
After the dissapointment of not witnessing a Cloverfield trailer before Saw IV, what are your hopes for seeing the highly anticipated Abrams trailer? Will you buy a ticket to Beowulf just to see if there is a 1-18-08 trailer?

idk
You can assume that not long after it comes out in theaters (the trailer i mean) it’ll be available on apple.com or youtube…
Beowolf doesnt look bad enough that it’d be the only reason why i’d go see it, but its definitely a deciding factor if theres other options for the night.
I mean, SAW isnt even Paramount. It’d make sense for them to put a much anticipated trailer on one of their movies…
I just wish there were clues to let you know a head of time…
on at least on of the viral sites
(speaking of which… anyone has thought on the new bold futura site?)
just posted about it, Jordan hasnt posted it on front page though…Head to the “news section” for the new bold futura website.
i was just gonna come here and post about beowulf buti see you beat me to it jarvis. its cool, i think i am gonna see the movie it really looks like a good movie but of course i will be looking for a 1 18 08 trailer. oh and for anybody that went to see saw4 DONT SAY ANYTHINH ABOUT IT i didnt see it yet
I was planning to see Beowulf either way. if there is a trailer, it’ll just be a bonus.
No, I’ll probably just wait the day after the movie comes out for the trailer to appear on Apple.com like the first one did. I saw transformers the day it came out and the next day the 1-18 trailer was on the internet.
I’m going to do the same as Nick. The new trailer isn’t going to give us anything more than the first one did. Maybe a name though.
I cant take Beowulf seriously knowing now that it’s animated.
Its not animated, its CG-I…. ? :S
like 300 was, right?
Yeah just like 300.
Whoa. There’s a big difference between the CGI in this and the CGI in 300. In 300, the actors were real. Here, absolutely everything you see is CGI. There’s as much CGI in this as there was in Shrek. But in 300, it was just as much as, say, Sin City.
wtf Tony…..Angelina Jolie is a real actor + she’s naked in this movie (hope to god they dont CGI that part)….
I think its just over CGI’d slightly more than 300….but not shrek like CGI, shit…lol
Ok, the movie is green screen….it has real actors in it just like 300…i literally just watched the making of beuwulf + last week saw making of 300 lol.
It has real actors, but they’re motion captured, like in a sports video game… it’s very different from 300 or Sin City. There is no actual human element in terms of what you see, as it’s all motion captured animation that’s completely mapped over with CGI. 300 showed the actual actors and did have some real elements. It’s like they’re all wearing CGI costumes on a CGI set…
Beowulf IS ALL CG-I… they do use motion capture though…
and its PG13… how much do you expect to see?
I take it back…
there should be some nudity… but… most likely from the back…
you cant expect a full frontal rated PG13?
(and what I mean is they basically map the CGI ontop of the live actors using motion capture… nothing like 300 from what I saw)
word but angelins jolie has been naked so many times its not even funny, if you want to see good shots just pick up the movies taking lives or gia.
I was watching the original trailer for like the 15th time and I paused it to answer a call I looked at the screen and noticed something I have never seen before. Hanging in the background about 47 seconds in the trailer there is a fraternity paddle hanging in the background, AKM I’m sure this has been noticed and discussed to death but I was wonder if there was any significance to that.
Sorry, Harvey, but I gotta straighten out this CGI business.
300 did use real actors in front of green screen, yes. And, naturally, about 80% of it was CGI (I cite the scene where someone’s head is chopped off, and most of the gratuitous violence in general.)
Beowulf does not use real actors. It made the models look like the voice actors, and I’m sure they did do some motion capture. But you need only to see the trailer to see that that’s a long way off from real actors. That’s part of the reason this movie is so big, is that it’s entirely CGI. So, you want to call that “real actors,” if that works for you, fine. My use of Shrek as an example probably confused some. Shrek didn’t model the character models after the actors. They were entirely created.
Also, the film will be rated PG-13, despite the obvious nudity of Angelina Jolie’s character, “Grendel’s Mother.” So, yes, you will see some. (See the wikipedia article.)
You want my proof this is a CGI movie? Tell me if that looks real:

Sorry if the link doesn’t work. But I’m pretty sure this movie is CGI.
Wow, we’re off topic now.
To get back to HarveyBar: AKM? Is that what it says?
On second thought, just look at the poster for this movie!
Stands for ” A Killer Monster” Ok that’s a lie. No one has found any connection to the frat paddle, and the monster. We looked in to this a long time ago.
Good eye though (Hopes he didn’t come across as a prick)
Ok tony the twat….Lemme comprehand for you….Ur PARTIALLY right. The film is shot with CGI but it is also like 300 with REAL PEOPLE infront of the green screen…now the reason this movie IS SO BIG is because paramount is using digitally enhanced live action….THIS IS JUST LIKE 300….where the spartans, the actors, would swing there sword for the making of the movie, then when the real movie comes out, that sword would be lighting fast, slicing some dudes head off. This movie is NOT full CGI where there are, qoute: “Beowulf does not use real actors. It made the models look like the voice actors, and I’m sure they did do some motion capture”. This is vertainly not true…there are real actors playing things out on the green screen, then naturally, like with most action flicks our days, are make upped off with CGI / digitally enhanced…
Did you even bother to look at the photo I posted, or the poster for the movie you put up yourself? Final Fantasy has better graphics! Not human-looking. To an avid video game player, as I know you are, this should be easy enough.

A 300 poster…We seem to both agree 300 had real actors, yet this 300 poster looks CGI’d
wait: http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/PYR/NECA0011~300-Posters.jpg
And that one….
We both agree 300 used real actors, yet your main argument is the poster & the images of Beowulf…those posters of 300 look CGI’d, correct….yet the movie was not? The images of the beowulf movie you posted, in my oppinion, look just like the images you see in the 300 movie…which we have both seen.
I dont wanna start a flame / discussion bout beowulf….how bout we just see the beowulf movie and see what it’s like, then after that we can flame on msn?
Sure, the graphics look CGI. But the people don’t. That’s what I’m talking about. Yeah, they’re colored differently (filters and whatnot), but the source material is still just a photograph. Beowulf’s humans are CGI.
Watch the trailer again. And, if you can find a link to this making-of thing, you’ll have convinced me. But until then, I’m staunchly a believer in that it’s CGI.
Either way, seeing Angelina Jolie nudie, be it super-accurate CGI or real, will be incentive enough, eh? They’re making a game of it, too.
didn’t really want to jump into this conversation; but i will. Angeline Jolie is listed as an actor in the movie, not the voice of AJ. I stick to my “it’s like 300″ theory.
besides anything is better than waiting around for another cloverfield breakthrough.
She’s probably listed as the actor (as are all the others; Anthony Hopkins, etc.) because what else are you going to put? Starring: The Pixels that make up a goddess in the form of Angelina Jolie, with Angelina Jolie lending her voice to it!
Lol. We’ll all see when it gets out, just like we’ll all see wtf is going on with the monster when project cloverfield gets out, which is what this site is dedicated to!
i highly doubt we are going to see the cloverfield monster, this will probably be a long joke that jj plays on us from time to time. it might be like lost you know how you didnt see that monster until a certain episode. maybe im right maybe im wrong but i just dont think we are going to see the monster
“1-18-08″ to Get New Trailer… and a Title!
Source: ComingSoon.net
October 31, 2007
All has been relatively quiet on the 1-18-08 front for the last few months since the San Diego Comic-Con, but a source for ComingSoon.net has revealed to us that the J.J. Abrams-produced monster movie will get a new trailer AND its title will finally be revealed on November 16 in front of Robert Zemeckis’ animated Beowulf.
So far, we know very little about the movie beyond what we’ve seen in the teaser this past summer, the pictures on the official site, the director and writer (Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard) and some of its cast (Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel, Lizzy Kaplan), but hopefully, more will become clear in a few weeks.
Is anyone going to see Beowulf on the 16th? Someone needs to see if this is really happening. If it is true, maybe there should be a spoiler thread for the people who want to see the trailer before they read about it.
I’m going. It’s like i have no life! LOL. Movies and books. someone start a spoiler thread for the movie and i’ll post in comments.
Start a thread… I think that’d require a forum, eh? That’d be nice for projectcloverfield.com. Kinda small-ish community, though.
Ok, today Jarvis and I were arguing about whether or not Beowulf is CGI. I think we agree that it’s digitally enhanced live action, like the site says. What this would mean is that they actually filmed people in front of a green screen (like you said, Jarv. Just like 300), but then in post-production they digitally enhance it or whatever. Which, to me, just makes it look computer generated. I dunno. From the promo shots I’ve seen, those don’t look like flesh and blood. Go figure. Maybe we’re arguing about it because it’s such an advanced technology we can barely understand it. Lol.
Either way, I’m putting this behind me.
As for the possibility of us getting a new trailer, I think that merits a new post all for itself. Or at least an edit of this post, anyway.
Right, I’m out. Hope you 8 users online have something to say.
Thread…Topic…Article. Whatever you want to call these things. I guess article would work the best. There is a forum. I still check it now and then, but no one uses it. Most likely because no one cares when anyone speaks off topic here. That is why when I would read Jordan’s posts, I thought her voice sounded exactly like Hank Moody. I mean Fox Mulder.
http://projectcloverfield.com/forums/ Read and reminisce. It seems like July was so long ago.
