RageOfTheGods.com: New site?
Posted on August 18th, 2007 at 11:53 am in |
Hey guys, there’s some rumors around the net referring to this apparently new viral website that may be related to Cloverfield, www.rageofthegods.com. Although this site doesn’t give out so much, there’s a few coincidences with things that we already know. For instance, the “–” in the title, as the 1-18-08.com site, the number six and stuff. However, in some sites I’ve read the extended whois info about this website, and it seems like it was created abut 12 days before 1-18-08.com, that’s why many people has debunked this site, but I’m begining to think that maybe, just maybe, the site creation date may not be a true reference, because the 1-18-08.com site was created in march 30th, 4 months before we even knew about Cloverfield, and this site was created just 12 days before it… So, it could have something to do with it.
Anyway, I went through the site and I found some interesting info, that I haven’t seen in anywhere else. First, of course, the main site:
The image of a rat with a japanese kanji, the text field with no submit button, and the blurry thing above the rat image. The 6 digit cancel code is kinda interesting, hofwever, there are no javascript functions or anything that can capture that data, so, moving along…
The website in matter of seconds redirects to a flash file, that shows the following series of numbers one after another:
And then fades to black, without showing something else. I noticed that the last series of numbers is the same one as the flash filename. I tried to change the secuence to the ones showed in the flash, but it just shows the same info, so, I did this:
I inputed “*.*” in the ur, resulting in http://www.rageofthegods.com/*.*, and this is what happened:
As you can see, a series of 6number sequences are shown in the bottom of the page. The last one seems to be a date, 09/15/08, and the (6). In the title of the site, there are only 5 numbers, the date is not shown.
http://www.rageofthegods.com/19924.html <- There are many code url’s like this one, popping out in Google. Unfiction declared it Out Of Game, but, who knows… What are your thoughts about this one?

The Rage of the Gods site is changing slightly. The rat is mutating. It was very clear a week ago and now is blurry - like it is changing. A clue?
That site was shown to be unrelated to Cloverfield over a week ago…

On the blurry screen select all.. 666 on the bottom… redirected to a site saying “demons can’t decipher this code” and a large series of numbers showed up… check it out!
correction….
click on set of number… goes to a screen with 3 blue windows… select all from there
http://www.rageofthegods.com/demonscantdecipherthiscode.html
What ever this is, related or not, it is pretty cool.
3 windows = 3 monsters? right back to the three posters.
on the slusho website, when you go to happy talk, the duck is saying “BLOOP” i dont know if that relates to the sound heard on that undersea website but its weird that the duck would say that after all the discussion about it on this website. Also the Donkey says something about a whale swimming up the thames river and he asks if he can get slusho in london. To me those sound like two big clues
I tried breaking the code but it doesn’t seem to be correct. I got “MOTHING IS WIAT IT SEEMS” which I’m assuming is supposed to be “Nothing is what it seems”. The screenshots of the flashing series of numbers, all I got was “Forward is” but the last word is complete gibberish. I’m sure it’s a fake site because if it was legit, I’m sure the code wouldn’t be “Mothing is wIat it seems”
It is certainly changing. Everyday shows something different. Yesterday there was just the 6 numbers sequences below, but later there was that link. However, it’s hard to say the similarities between Cloverfield and this site, but it’s very, very interesting. I wonder what could mean the code showed in here:
http://www.rageofthegods.com/demonscantdecipherthiscode.html
Hey ~*KGirl84*~, what key did you used to break this code?
A=1
B=2
… etc
this website has no connection whatsoever with cloverfield/1-18-08/slusho/cheese
none
you can stop now
This is a different ARG, why is it that you guys are trolling over stuff like this when there are several new rumors churning on the other sites?
This site is supposed to be about Cloverfield, if you want to hash other ARGs maybe you should visit them at unfiction.
This is not related. The 09/15/08 is obviously a release date. And for those of you who haven’t noticed yet, thats different that 1/18/08.
Matthew1808, I have been saying for awhile, but no one seems to believe me…….Happy Talk on the Slusho site are our emails that we have sent them.
I guess we’ll eventually find out, but it is the only thing that makes sense to me.
jerry, no one believes you because you have given no proof.
And the proof that it indeed means something is where?
Just because it’s on the site?
How can “bloop” mean anything when it’s not even the right sound effect from the site. It’s been established that “slowdown” and/or “mystery” is the sound effect that Ivo (the person that posted it on this site) intended for people to listen to.
Then, JP listened to the wrong one named “bloop” and for some reason people ran with it.
As for proof, I am not really looking for anyone to believe me, it’s just a hypotheses. I am content with that.
I guess I’m just throwing it out there so that when it’s revealed that it’s just our emails………well you know the rest.
Besides, had I said “so and so happy talk is word for word an email that I sent them” would that have made it credible? How would someone even prove that?
http://slusho.jp/xml/talk.xml
Okay.
What is this supposed to mean?
It just seems those random phrases that the characters in “Slusho!” use to say. Nothing special about it.
ok, I could see where your coming from Jerry but the only thing is that when you send slusho an Email they only reply with Slusho thanks you for your email or something dumb like that
IDK What the whole slusho site means anyway I still think its an advertising site for a new drink JJ may be putting out to the public. I think we may be reading way too much into the SlushoJP site including myself lol
I mean what if it turns out Slusho has nothing to do with the movie at all
And this whole thing with rageofthegods.com and this picture of the rat. Im guessing its another MMO game for the computer like that game from the EthanHaas people dont read to much into th site, it doesnt even look like it has anything to do with cloverfield/cheese/chocolate/ any other title this stupid movie has
I’m kind of pissed that I didn’t pay attention to this sooner. Sorry, but please refrain from posting shit like this next time. There is nothing more that I hate than having to see this garbage on my website.
:|
We’re in middle of August, okay? There are still 4 months to go, and we don’t know yet the title of the movie, which other ARG websites JJ created for this movie, so it’s kinda hard for us to be discarding websites like that. Of course, http://www.slushozoom.com was an easy one, but what about this one? The guys at Unfiction said that it was not related, but JJ haven’t, and that’s something that should be noted. Of course, JJ can’t be discarding websites like that, that would be a full time job, but he, at least, discarded Ethan Haas. I think this website could be somehow related to Cloverfield because of the little coincidences…
Anyway, if this one is a hoax, I really don’t think this is another MMO like EthanHaas, this is just some prankster.
you know AntaresMHD, you have a point there, JJ doesnt have the kind of time to go around dismissing fake websites but usually that is our job. Now I know that you took a look at this a figured it could be a clue to the whole cloverfield mystery but i mean if you look closely at the website and start to dechiper the numbers, you can plainly see that this is some kind of advertising website for whatever its advertising. I gotta agree with other people tho that this is some kind of MMO game like the ethaanhaas thing. And you gotta remember that when you find something that looks to be a clue, investigate it first, you dont wanna end up like that guy over at 1-18-80news.com who posts stupid stuff all day everyday.
Besides I keep saying what does a Rat possibly have to do with the movie. Just because 2008 is the year of the rat doesnt mean its the monster of the movie
after you get to the screen with the three ‘windows’
there’s a section of selectable text across the top
that is only visible once you select it (cause the
text is black, when you select it the background becomes
white) and you can read this:
I BEG 12F Y15U, D12 N15T C12NTINUE 15R Y12U WILL BE IN GREAT DANGER!
if you substitute the letter ‘O’ for the ‘1′, the leftover extra
digits leave you with 2525252. don’t know if that means
anything or not. but it’s interesting, i suppose, for you
cryptologists out there…
Well, that’s true too, Matthew. Anyway, I won’t be able to do such mistakes again, because my writing permissions were voided =D, but that’s ok, I didn’t make a lot of research as you claim, mea culpa.
I’m consider this OOG then.
Interesting.
See now people are reading into this wbsite to much, somebody needs to post that it is not related to the movie!
Hey anybody else realize that the movie hasnt had much news since everybody was hyped to hear the title at comic con and the posters were released? I wonder if he has caught on to some of the websites and realized that they give away alot of info and has made stuff more top secret than usual? IDK but ever since that call sheet got leaked i havent heard any kind of breaking news or anything except for stupid guesses and theories on other websites
I wonder why it has been so slow all of the sudden
There hasn’t even been a new picture posted on 1-18-08.com in about a zillion years!
Make that a God-zillion years. Or rat-zillion. Or whatever.
Is there a new picture yet?
.. I’m pretty sure there won’t be another picture at 1-18-08.com, and I think it’s because that website was focused on guiding us to the main characters and their MySpace’s, nothing else.
And, about the lack of updates, maybe, just maybe, we just got all the info they where going to deliver. “Slusho!” doesn’t have anything else in it, those MySpaces are just rantings, nothing seems to be serious…
Naw i dont think thats the end of the news and stuff because at comic con JJ was like expect a new trailer and pictures and all of that stuff soon. But im guessing hes gonna wait until like around november or december you know closer to the movie
“Forward is Backward”
AntaresMHD, apologies for that. I was clearing out other Authors on the list, and yours was added onto it. You’ve got the privileges back ;)
No biggie, I’ll just try to make a better post than this one, I accept that I made a mistake talking abut this crappy site… (ROTG, not ProjectCloverfield =P)
rage of the gods sounds like a reference to the HG Wells novel and giant, mutated rats (among other giant things) called Food of the God and How It Came To Earth. “Food” for thought. :-)
anon…forward is backward? where was that from?
reference to up is down, pirates III? waiting for the green flash at sundown?
OMG IT IS NOT A MOVIE ABOUT GIANT RATS PLEASE SOMEBODY LISTEN TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!! DANNO THIS IS A LEGIT MONSTER MOVIE NOT A STUPID MONSTER MOVIE WITH ALOW BUDGET MADE BY BAD ACTORS AND BAD DIRECTORS!!!!! PLEASE ENOUGH WITH GODZILLA AND ENOUGH WITH GIANT RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you send an e-mail, anything@rageofthegods.com you get a response.
I think the site is cool. It is more fun than Cloverfield right now. Which I think has puttered out to nothing.
I have spent hours on the myspace pages, nothing.
I think the slusho.jp site is nothing more than a means for you and I to spend $50 bucks on shirts and hats. Imagine if a million people did that.
Exactly code breaker! that is what ive been saying about the slusho website, i dont think it has anything to do with the moive i think its just more marketing to get more money for JJ. He is just stealing peoples money betweeen the slusho website the shirts the movie posters and then the movie which everybody will run out to go and see because everybody is curious. I say opening day the movie comes out its gonna make at least 20 to 30 million and then opening weekend probably 20 or 30 more million
on Rob’s Orkut ( http://www.orkut.com/Profile.aspx?uid=13934473099147623824 ) It says in his proffesional section that he is in the marketing business.
Now bear with me this is kind of a train of thought.
On the slusho webiste it says that it is not in London and also on the slushozoom site it says it hasnt quite reached America so what if Rob is a marketer for Slusho and he is going to Japan for business? And also my theory on the whole monster thing is the secret ingredient in Slusho’s was truly derived from the ocean floor and that it was the eggs or ovum of some evil mother monster and that they put it in the drink and sell it and everyone gets infected and impregnanted with their children except for a few.
AND if this is the case then Rob’s brother Jason a.k.a Hawk a.k.a ‘J’ will defdinitly be infected and most probably die because on his myspace it says he srinks Slusho on his blog.
Also seeming as America doesnt have Slusho yet (as stated above) maybe Rob has been bringing it back home from his trips to Japan (if he has had various) and giving them to his friends????
Or maybe there is just this apocolyptic sea thingo that reeks havoc on NYC for no particular reason and then goes home???
Just sme suggestions….
wow i had so many typos in there……
also check out cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com for some interesting vidoes on set of ‘cheese’ at central park.
SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE AUSSIES OUT THERE!
you could be right tom, that actually sounds like a good story.
lol, imagine if it was a moby dick movie!!!!
Okay I know that Rage of the Gods has been shot down, but there is nothing going on at the 1-18-08 site so I revisited Rage and the site changed again! (slow day) Shows a hugh explosion.
Two clues:
“I BEG 12F Y15U, D12 N15T C12NTINUE 15R Y12U WILL BE IN GREAT DANGER!”
“Forward is backward”
This indicates that the code for working out the number sequences works in two directions:
A = 1 through Z = 26
and backward
Z = 1 through A = 26
The rat symbolizes the “Year of the Rat”, which is 2008, when the event in the movie occurs. The number sequence under the rat spells out:
“Mothing is wIat it seems.” The mistakes are probably on purpose…a clue. This is all attached to the Slusho site…the number 6 indicates it, the “Slushozoom” site indicates it.
The image of the map with grid, looking like it’s in flames, centers on the east coast of the US, where the event occurs.
The last drilling rig built (Sep 07) by the Tagruato company was built of the east coast of the US. Tagruato also makes Slusho.
There’s more…way more.
This is a movie about something that comes out of the sea and rains destruction down on mankind, especially in the western world. Whatever it is was raised by the drilling.
Tagruato may have accidentally stumbled upon something during early drilling…they found the secret ingredient to Slusho. Maybe they encountered an alien race, or old gods, that “persueded” them to share the ingrediant with the rest of the world. Slusho works like an opiat, making people feel happy and healthy. You’ll note that the Slusho site is pushing a campaign to pull the west into the Slusho marketing family - America and Europe. Maybe Asia has been sufficiently Slusho’d and it’s time to take over the rest of the world. Maybe Slusho is preparing the world for change?
Maybe that change is coming in the form of appocolyptic destruction. Many cultures tell stories of such destruction, usually through religion…the Bible, Japanese legend…
Malthus: this was debunked. it’s OOG. i followed this for a while. there are cryptic emails that show someone “kidnapped” and then “erased”.
Unfiction feels that this has nothing to do with cloverfield.
