Hey guys, there’s some rumors around the net referring to this apparently new viral website that may be related to Cloverfield, www.rageofthegods.com. Although this site doesn’t give out so much, there’s a few coincidences with things that we already know. For instance, the “–” in the title, as the 1-18-08.com site, the number six and stuff. However, in some sites I’ve read the extended whois info about this website, and it seems like it was created abut 12 days before 1-18-08.com, that’s why many people has debunked this site, but I’m begining to think that maybe, just maybe, the site creation date may not be a true reference, because the 1-18-08.com site was created in march 30th, 4 months before we even knew about Cloverfield, and this site was created just 12 days before it… So, it could have something to do with it.

Anyway, I went through the site and I found some interesting info, that I haven’t seen in anywhere else. First, of course, the main site:

00

The image of a rat with a japanese kanji, the text field with no submit button, and the blurry thing above the rat image. The 6 digit cancel code is kinda interesting, hofwever, there are no javascript functions or anything that can capture that data, so, moving along…

The website in matter of seconds redirects to a flash file, that shows the following series of numbers one after another:

rageofthegods_01.PNG rageofthegods_02.PNG rageofthegods_03.PNG

And then fades to black, without showing something else. I noticed that the last series of numbers is the same one as the flash filename. I tried to change the secuence to the ones showed in the flash, but it just shows the same info, so, I did this:

I inputed “*.*” in the ur, resulting in http://www.rageofthegods.com/*.*, and this is what happened:

*.*

As you can see, a series of 6number sequences are shown in the bottom of the page. The last one seems to be a date, 09/15/08, and the (6). In the title of the site, there are only 5 numbers, the date is not shown.

http://www.rageofthegods.com/19924.html <- There are many code url’s like this one, popping out in Google. Unfiction declared it Out Of Game, but, who knows… What are your thoughts about this one?
